We walk beside one another,
Treading past civilisation,
Going our separate ways,
Never looking to the side,
Only forwards and sometimes back.
We don’t explore the lives lead by others,
We keep to our own paths,
Carved out milliseconds before our next step,
Believed to be carved at our birth,
Never understanding the impacts of our choices.
We are stuck in the monotonous rhythm of our walking,
Selfishly moving on from life event to life event,
Choosing as if we have no choice,
Unable to move on from what is,
Existing not living.
We affect everyone whilst everyone affects us,
Bulldosing the world around us,
Building things slower than we brake,
Thinking our little lives don’t matter in the grand scheme,
Unaware of the true nature of our existence.
